Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Coimbatore to Sakleshpur, Manjarabad Fort and a plantation walk
We leave Coimbatore early for a long road day of around 8 hours with stops. In the afternoon, visit Manjarabad Fort just outside town, then walk through a coffee and pepper estate before dark.
Day 2: Bisle viewpoint, waterfalls and estate activities
A full day in the hills. Drive out to the Bisle viewpoint, stop at a waterfall on the way if the road and flow allow, and spend the afternoon at your estate stay. Which waterfall we use depends on the season.
Day 3: Optional Belur stop and return
Check out after breakfast. If you choose Belur, we stop at the Chennakeshava Temple on the way, then drive back to Coimbatore for an evening or night drop.
How far is it from Coimbatore?
Sakleshpur is a long road day from Coimbatore, usually via Mysore and Hassan. Karnataka Tourism puts it about 220 km from Bangalore.
Places you will see
Manjarabad Fort sits about 5 km south-west of Sakleshpur on a hilltop, says the Hassan district page on the fort. Tipu Sultan built it in 1792. Karnataka Tourism notes its star shape, with tunnels and cannon mounts you can walk around.
The Bisle area is about 45 km from Sakleshpur. The district's Bisle Ghat page describes reserved forest spreading into Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada, with elephants and bison in the area. The viewpoint looks over these hills.
The Belur temple was consecrated by the Hoysala king Vishnuvardhana in 1116 AD. The district's Belur page counts more than 80 carved Madanika figures on it. Allow an hour.
Karnataka Tourism also lists treks in Sakleshpur, such as Jenukal Gudda and Agni Gudda.
Best time to go
October to February is cool and dry, good for walks and the fort. June to September brings heavy rain: the waterfalls are at their best, but leeches, slippery paths and ghat road delays come with it. Some forest roads, including the Bisle road, can close in heavy rain, and we swap in another stop nearby if that happens.
Vehicle for your group size
The vehicle is part of the package price. We match it to your group, and you can ask for a different one.

Frequently asked questions
What will we see in Sakleshpur in two days?
The places to visit in Sakleshpur in 2 days on this plan are Manjarabad Fort, an estate walk, the Bisle viewpoint and a waterfall, which fit into the two full days. Day 3 is for Belur and the drive home.
Can you do a two-day or one-day trip to Sakleshpur instead?
From Coimbatore, a one-day trip is not practical because of the drive. A Sakleshpur 2 days package is possible but leaves only one afternoon in the hills. We recommend the 3-day plan.
Do you arrange camping in Sakleshpur?
We do not run camps. Some estates and private operators offer tents; tell us and we can drive you there and price the stay into your quote if the operator confirms.
Can we add Shravanabelagola?
Shravanabelagola is famous for the monolithic statue of Gomateshwara on Indragiri hill. The Hassan district page gives its height as 18 metres, which is about 59 feet. It adds a long detour to Day 3, so ask us for a separate quote. For a full Hoysala temple trip, see our Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola tour.
Can we change the plan?
Yes. Tell us which stops matter most. We can drop Belur, add a longer trek or swap the waterfall, as long as the drive home stays safe.
How do payment and cancellation work?
A 30% advance confirms your trip, and the balance date is in your written quote. Cancel 15 days or more before the trip and we refund the full advance. From 14 to 3 days before, we refund half the advance. Within 2 days of the trip, the advance is not refunded.
Who is this package not for?
If you want famous sights back to back, Sakleshpur will feel quiet. The Chikmagalur weekend has bigger viewpoints. A 3-day Chikmagalur trip gives it more time. For a city stay before the hills, try our Bangalore in three days plan. For ruins and rock-cut caves, see the Hampi and Badami trip.
