How much does car rental in Coimbatore cost per day?

Car rental in Coimbatore with our driver costs ₹1,400 to ₹3,000 per day for our sedans, the Ertiga and the three Innova models, plus ₹10 to ₹18 per km. The BMW 5 Series is ₹9,000 a day and ₹98 per km. Toll and parking are extra, and we send the total for your route before you book.

Passenger counts are in addition to the driver. All our sedans, the Ertiga, the three Innova models and the BMW have AC. The cheapest car rental in Coimbatore with a driver is the Dzire or the Etios at ₹1,400 a day. For a one day car rental, the price is the day rate plus the kilometres you drive. That is why a day of errands inside the city costs far less than a day trip to Ooty in the same car.

Do you rent cars with a driver or self drive?

Every car we rent in Coimbatore comes with our driver. We do not offer self drive cars, so none of our cars can be rented without a driver. The driver takes care of the city traffic, parking, the ghat bends and the route, while you sit in the back with your family or your laptop.

If you were looking for a self drive car to save money, check the numbers first. A Swift Dzire with our driver is ₹1,400 a day plus ₹10 per km, and you never have to drive the Valparai ghat road, which has 40 hairpin bends, or find parking near a busy temple yourself.

Our drivers know the Coimbatore roads, from Avinashi Road to the Pollachi highway, and the hill roads up to Ooty, Kodaikanal and Valparai. On a long day they plan the tea and food stops with you.

Which car fits your group: 4, 6 or 7 seater?

Count the passengers first, then the bags. Four people fit in a sedan from ₹1,400 a day. Five or six travel in the Ertiga or the Innova. For 7 people, book the Innova Crysta, the Innova Hycross or the Xylo. A group of 8 or more needs a van.

7 seater car rental in Coimbatore

The Ertiga and the Innova seat 6 plus the driver, so a group of 7 needs the Innova Crysta at ₹2,500 a day and ₹15 per km, or the Innova Hycross at ₹3,000 a day and ₹18 per km. Both seat 7 passengers plus the driver. Many families pick the Crysta and save ₹500 a day. The Hycross makes sense when you are collecting corporate guests or need a wedding car.

If one or two more people may join, book for the larger number now. Ten or more travel more cheaply in a Tempo Traveller or a Force Urbania than in two cars.

How the per km price works, with a worked example

Your fare is the day rate for each day plus the per km rate for every kilometre the car runs on your trip. Toll and parking are added on top. Share your route and we work out the car rental price per km and per day, then send one total before you book.

Here is a real example. Six people want a day trip to Ooty in the Ertiga. Ooty is 89 km from Coimbatore according to the Nilgiris district, so the drive up and back with a few stops in town comes to about 200 km.

• Kilometres: 200 km x ₹12 = ₹2,400
• Total: ₹4,200 plus toll and parking, or ₹700 each for 6 people

Two things stand out. Per person, the Ertiga is the cheapest car on a hill trip. And six people in two Dzires would pay ₹6,800 for the same day, ₹2,600 more than one Ertiga. On long routes the per km rate matters more than the day rate, so for a 500 km trip the Crysta costs ₹1,500 more in kilometres than the Ertiga, on top of the ₹700 higher day rate.

What is included in the fare and what is extra?

The fare covers the car, our driver and the kilometres at the per km rate for your car. Toll and parking are extra. Your hotel, meals and entry tickets at the places you visit are not part of a car rental. Anything else is written in your quote before you confirm.

Distances: Ooty from the Nilgiris district, Valparai from the Coimbatore district, and Kodaikanal from our own route check. For Kodaikanal, the Coimbatore to Kodaikanal taxi fare in a Dzire comes to about ₹6,600 for two days. Plan 4 to 5 hours each way with stops, longer on season weekends.

Further out, the Toyota Innova is the car many families take to Munnar, Wayanad and Coorg. The Innova Crysta runs to Mysore and Kerala, and the Innova Hycross suits long highway trips to Bengaluru, Kochi or Chennai. On a trip of several days the same car and driver stay with you, and you pay the day rate for each day plus the kilometres.
