Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1: Coimbatore to Wayanad, Lakkidi View Point and Pookode Lake

    We collect you in the morning and drive up into Wayanad. Your first stop is Lakkidi View Point, at the top of the ghat road, followed by Pookode Lake nearby. Take a boat out on the lake, then check in for two nights.

  2. Day 2: Banasura Sagar Dam, tea estate, waterfall and free time

    After a slow breakfast, drive to Banasura Sagar Dam, then walk through a tea estate and stop at a waterfall. Which one depends on water level and road access that day. The afternoon and evening are kept free so you can rest at the resort.

  3. Day 3: Edakkal Caves and return to Coimbatore

    Check out early and reach Edakkal Caves when the ticket counter opens, before the crowds. The climb to the caves is steep in places. After lunch, we drive you back to Coimbatore.

How far is Wayanad from Coimbatore?

Wayanad is roughly 5 to 6 hours from Coimbatore by road, depending on the route. The Gundlupet route passes through forest stretches that close to traffic at night, so we always plan to cross in daylight.

Places you will see

Pookode Lake is about 3 km from Vythiri. Kerala Tourism calls it the smallest and highest freshwater lake in the state, with boating and kayaking. The same page lists Lakkidi viewpoint, the Chain Tree and Banasura Sagar Dam as nearby sights, which is why they sit together on Day 1 and Day 2.

Kerala Tourism's Wayanad attractions guide recommends Edakkal Caves for history lovers: two natural rock formations with ancient carvings inside. Banasura Sagar is a large earth dam with hills around the reservoir.

Best time to go

October to May is the best window for sightseeing and dry walks to Edakkal. June to September is monsoon season: Wayanad is very green and quiet, which some couples like, but rain can close waterfalls and slow the ghat roads. December holidays fill resorts early. Edakkal Caves keep their own timings and a weekly closing day, so we check them and plan Day 3 around it.

This package starts from ₹10,200 per person. The quote depends on dates, the room or resort you pick, and the car. Most couples choose a sedan (Dzire, Etios or Amaze) or an Innova Crysta for more comfort on the ghat roads. Two couples travelling together can share an Innova or Innova Hycross. Frequently asked questions

Can you arrange honeymoon extras?

We can ask the hotel about room decoration, a cake or a private dinner and add it to your written quote. These are paid to the hotel at its rates.

Is the Edakkal climb hard?

The path to the caves is uphill and steep near the top, with steps and rocks. Wear proper shoes. If either of you has knee trouble, the driver can swap Edakkal for a second waterfall or a spice garden.

Can we change the plan?

Yes. You can add a third night, skip the waterfall or spend Day 2 entirely at the resort. Tell us before we confirm the quote.

Will we share the vehicle with anyone?

No. The car and driver are only for the two of you. Your quote names the vehicle, and the driver stays with you for all three days.

How do payment and cancellation work?

A 30% advance confirms your trip, and the balance date is in your written quote. Cancel 15 days or more before the trip and we refund the full advance. From 14 to 3 days before, we refund half the advance. Within 2 days of the trip, the advance is not refunded.
