Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1: Coimbatore to Palani and Madurai

    Early pickup, an Isha Yoga Center stop on request (we plan the day around it), darshan at the Palani hill temple, then on to Madurai. Night in Madurai.

  2. Day 2: Madurai

    Meenakshi Temple in the morning, with a second visit in the evening if you like. Night in Madurai.

  3. Day 3: Madurai to Rameswaram

    Drive to Rameswaram across the Pamban bridge. Darshan at Ramanathaswamy Temple. Night in Rameswaram.

  4. Day 4: Dhanushkodi and on to Kanyakumari

    Morning at Dhanushkodi, then the coast road south. Sunset at Kanyakumari. Night in Kanyakumari.

  5. Day 5: Kanyakumari and Suchindram

    This day covers Kanyakumari's main sights: the Vivekananda Rock Memorial by ferry, the Thiruvalluvar Statue, the Bhagavathi Amman temple and Suchindram temple. Second night in Kanyakumari.

  6. Day 6: Days 6 and 7: Kanyakumari to Tirupati

    The long run north, split over two days with an overnight halt on the way. You reach Tirupati on the evening of Day 7.

  7. Day 7: Tirumala darshan

    Darshan at Tirumala under the ticket you have booked. Night in Tirupati.

  8. Day 8: Tirupati

    Spare day for a long queue, a second darshan or nearby temples. Night in Tirupati.

  9. Day 9: Tirupati to Coimbatore

    Drive home and drop at your pickup point.

How far / how to reach

Palani is about 100 km from Coimbatore. Madurai to Rameswaram is about 170 km and Rameswaram to Kanyakumari about 300 km. Kanyakumari to Tirupati is the long leg at roughly 800 km, which is why it takes two days, and Tirupati back to Coimbatore is about 450 to 500 km.

Places you will see

The Palani temple's puja schedule lists daily darshan hours, which change on festival days. Meenakshi Temple is usually open 5 am to 12.30 pm and 4 pm to 9.30 pm, according to the Madurai district temple page. The Ramanathapuram district lists the Ramanathaswamy Temple, Pamban Bridge and Dhanushkodi among its main sights. Best time to go

October to February is cooler for barefoot temple visits. Big festivals bring long queues: plan around Thai Poosam at Palani, the Chithirai festival in Madurai and Brahmotsavam at Tirumala, or come for them on purpose and book early. Festival dates change every year.

₹45,000 to ₹54,000 per person. The per-person rate falls as the group grows, because the vehicle cost is shared. Families travel in an Innova or Innova Crysta. Temple groups take a Tempo Traveller, Force Urbania, a 24 seater mini bus or a bigger bus. The vehicle is named in your quote.

Frequently asked questions

Do you book the Tirumala darshan tickets?

TTD sells darshan tickets through its official system, and they sell out weeks ahead. Book yours as early as you can and send us the date and slot; we plan the days around it. Without a ticket, the free queue can take many hours.

How far is Rameswaram from Tirupati?

Roughly 600 km by road. This trip does not drive that leg. It goes Rameswaram to Kanyakumari first, then north to Tirupati with an overnight halt.

How is this different from other temple tours that cover Tirupati and Kanyakumari?

Ours starts at your door in Coimbatore, adds Palani and Madurai, and keeps the same vehicle and driver for all 10 days.

Is this trip suitable for elderly parents?

Yes, with planning. Palani has a rope car and winch to the hilltop, and Days 6 and 7 are long. We pick a roomy vehicle, plan rest stops, and you can add a night anywhere.

Who should pick a different package?

If you want only the coast, our 4 day Rameswaram Kanyakumari package is shorter. Without Tirupati, the 7 day Madurai, Rameswaram and Kanyakumari tour adds Thanjavur instead. For Palani alone, see the Palani temple day tour. To add hills to the temples, look at Madurai to Ooty in 7 days. A shorter inland route is Madurai, Thanjavur and Trichy in 5 days. If you want Trivandrum as well, there is a 6-day Kanyakumari and Trivandrum tour.

What about payment and cancellation?

A 30% advance confirms your trip, and the balance date is in your written quote. Cancel 15 days or more before the trip and we refund the full advance. From 14 to 3 days before, we refund half the advance. Within 2 days of the trip, the advance is not refunded.
