Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1: Coimbatore to Madurai

    Morning pickup and the drive to Madurai. Evening darshan at Meenakshi Amman Temple, open 4 PM to 9:30 PM in the evening session per the Madurai district page. Night in Madurai.

  2. Day 2: Rameswaram

    Drive to Rameswaram across Pamban Bridge for Ramanathaswamy Temple and the island's sights. Night in Rameswaram.

  3. Day 3: Rameswaram to Kanyakumari, sunset

    A long coastal drive south. Sunset at the Kanyakumari shore. First night in Kanyakumari.

  4. Day 4: Vivekananda Rock, Thiruvalluvar Statue, Suchindram

    Ferry to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar Statue, then Suchindram Temple and an evening on Kanyakumari Beach. Second night in Kanyakumari.

  5. Day 5: Kanyakumari to Trivandrum, Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Kovalam

    Cross into Kerala for Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum and an evening at Kovalam Beach. Night in Trivandrum.

  6. Day 6: Poovar, shopping and return

    A morning at Poovar, a short shopping stop, then the drive back to Coimbatore, about 410 km and around 8.5 to 9.5 hours with stops, and we drop you at your pickup point. This is a long last day, and an extra night on the way can be added on request. We give the expected drop time in your quote.

How far / how to reach

All by road, from Coimbatore down to the southern tip and back, so expect several long driving days. All our trips start and end in Coimbatore.

Places you will see

The Kanniyakumari district page says the Vivekananda Rock Memorial marks Swami Vivekananda's meditation on the rock in December 1892, lists visiting hours of 8 AM to 4 PM, and gives the Thiruvalluvar Statue's full height as 133 feet. Ferry and entry fees are listed there too and are paid on the spot. The Bhagavathi Amman temple at the shore is open 4:30 AM to 12:15 PM and 4 PM to 8:15 PM per the district temples page.

In Rameswaram, the Ramanathaswamy Temple page describes the long third corridor and the 22 theerthams. In Kerala, Kerala Tourism has pages on Kovalam and Poovar.

Best time to go

October to March has calmer seas and cooler days for temple visits. The ferry to the rock stops when the sea is rough.

₹17,500 to ₹44,000 per person. Your figure depends on dates, the hotel and group size; the vehicle cost is shared, so a larger group pays less each. You get one figure for the whole trip, not a per-km taxi fare with Kerala extras. Our fleet: sedans (Dzire, Etios, Amaze), Ertiga, Innova, Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, Xylo, Tempo Traveller 12/14/17/18 seater, Force Urbania 10/12/14/16 seater, a 21 seater coach van, a 24 seater mini bus, and 30 and 50 seater buses. For 20 to 24 people, ask for the mini bus price for your dates; we quote it the same way as other Tamil Nadu trips.

Is there a dress code at Padmanabhaswamy Temple?

Yes, the temple has a strict traditional dress code. Men usually wear a dhoti and no shirt; women wear a saree or long skirt. Check the temple's official website for the current rules before you travel.

Does this tour cover any UNESCO heritage sites?

Can we cut Kerala and come back from Kanyakumari?

A 30% advance confirms your trip, and the balance date is in your written quote. Cancel 15 days or more before the trip and we refund the full advance. From 14 to 3 days before, we refund half the advance. Within 2 days of the trip, the advance is not refunded.
