It suits families and small groups who want the city and the coffee hills without changing vehicles. We are based at Ganapathy, Coimbatore, and use our own vehicles and drivers.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1: Coimbatore to Bangalore, Lalbagh and the palace

    Coimbatore to Bangalore is about 365 km, usually 7 hours with breaks, so we leave early. That gets you to Bangalore Palace (open 10 am to 5:30 pm) by early afternoon, then to Lalbagh before it closes at 6 pm. Karnataka Tourism describes Lalbagh Botanical Garden Bengaluru as a 240-acre garden built around its glass house. Night in Bangalore.

  2. Day 2: Bangalore to Mysore via Srirangapatna

    You take the expressway from Bangalore to Mysore (about 140 km) and stop at Srirangapatna, 15 km short of Mysore, for Tipu Sultan's fort and the Sri Ranganathaswamy temple. Karnataka Tourism's Srirangapatna page lists the temple open 7 am to 1:30 pm and 4 pm to 8:30 pm. Afternoon at Mysore Palace, open 10 am to 5:30 pm daily per the Mysuru district page, and lit up on Sunday and public holiday evenings. Night in Mysore.

  3. Day 3: Mysore to Coorg, Abbey Falls

    Mysore to Madikeri takes about 3 hours. After check-in, visit Abbey Falls, 6 km from Madikeri and open 9 am to 5 pm. Swimming is not allowed. Night in Coorg.

  4. Day 4: Talakaveri and Dubare

    Morning at Talakaveri, the source of the Kaveri, west of Madikeri. Afternoon at Dubare, east of town (see the Dubare note below). Night in Coorg. Talakaveri is a short drive from Madikeri, and your driver may change the order of the day to beat crowds or weather.

  5. Day 5: Golden Temple at Bylakuppe, return to Coimbatore

    The Namdroling monastery, often called the Golden Temple, is in the Tibetan settlement at Bylakuppe, about 5 km from Kushalnagar. Karnataka Tourism lists the Golden Temple as open 9 am to 6 pm. Then the drive home to Coimbatore.

How far and how to reach

You stay in one vehicle throughout. The longest drives are Day 1 (about 365 km) and Day 5. The return from Coorg uses forest roads that close at night: Bandipur from 9 pm to 6 am, and the Dhimbam ghat after 6 pm for most private vehicles. So on Day 5 we leave Bylakuppe by early afternoon. Closure hours can change, so your driver confirms the route on the day.

Places you will see

Bangalore Palace dates from 1878 and is built in a Tudor style. Mysore Palace gets a full afternoon instead of a rushed hour. Chamundi Hill and the Brindavan Gardens show are not in this plan; ask for them in your quote.

Best time to go

October to March is the comfortable window. In the monsoon (June to September) Abbey Falls runs hard but views from Talakaveri are often lost in cloud.

Dubare note: Jungle Lodges and Resorts, which runs the Dubare elephant camp, currently lists the elephant camp visit as "temporarily stopped". Entry depends on the forest department on the day. If it is closed, we swap in Nisargadhama or more time at Bylakuppe.

We match the vehicle to your group: a sedan (Dzire, Etios or Amaze) for up to 4, an Ertiga, Innova, Innova Crysta or Innova Hycross for up to 7, a Tempo Traveller or Force Urbania for 10 to 18, and coach vans or buses beyond that. The vehicle is named in your quote, and one driver stays with you all 5 days.

Frequently asked questions

What does the price cover?

The AC vehicle and driver for 5 days, fuel, tolls, parking, driver charges, the Karnataka vehicle permit and entry tax, and 4 hotel nights. Meals, entry tickets and Dubare activity fees are extra. You get the list in writing before you pay.

Can we add Tipu Sultan's palace in Bangalore?

Yes, if you reach Bangalore early. Tipu Sultan's summer palace is close to Lalbagh, so it fits on Day 1. Tell us when you book. Opening hours are set by the Archaeological Survey of India and change, so we check them for your date.

Can we change the plan?

Yes. Common changes are adding Chamundi Hill, swapping Talakaveri for a coffee estate walk, or adding a night. Ask before you confirm, since changes can move the quote.

What happens if the Dubare elephant camp is closed?

Jungle Lodges currently lists elephant camp visits as temporarily stopped. If it is still closed when you travel, we replace it with another Coorg stop and tell you before you book.

What are the payment and cancellation terms?

A 30% advance confirms your trip, and the balance date is in your written quote. Cancel 15 days or more before the trip and we refund the full advance. From 14 to 3 days before, we refund half the advance. Within 2 days of the trip, the advance is not refunded.

Who should pick a different package?

If you only want Coorg, the 4-day Coorg break is calmer. Families who want the zoo and Brindavan Gardens should see the Mysore family holiday.
