Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1: Coimbatore to Bangalore, Lalbagh, Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha

    Coimbatore to Bangalore is about 365 km, so we leave early. After check-in, you see Lalbagh, walk part of Cubbon Park and stop outside Vidhana Soudha, which is lit at night.

  2. Day 2: Bangalore Palace, ISKCON, Bannerghatta

    Bangalore Palace in the morning, then the ISKCON temple, then south to Bannerghatta for the afternoon safari. Bannerghatta is closed on Tuesdays, so we plan Day 2 on another weekday.

  3. Day 3: Bangalore Commercial Street or UB City, return to Coimbatore

    A morning for shopping, then the drive home, reaching Coimbatore by night.

How far / how to reach

About 365 km by road from Coimbatore, via Salem and Hosur. Your written quote states exactly what is included, including tolls, the Karnataka vehicle permit and entry tax (both included in the price) and any extra kilometres. Inside the city, the driver handles traffic and parking, which is the main reason most families book a car rather than drive.

Places you will see

Lalbagh Botanical Garden covers 240 acres, was started by Hyder Ali in 1760 and expanded by Tipu Sultan, and has a glasshouse that hosts flower shows in January and August, according to Karnataka Tourism's Bengaluru guide. It is the best-known botanical garden Bangalore has.

Cubbon Park is about 300 acres in the centre of the city. Most people photograph Vidhana Soudha, the legislature building, from the road outside. It is the seat of the state legislature, built in granite in a Dravidian and modern style. Locals also call it the Vidhan Sabha. Whether you can go inside depends on the day and on security rules, so most visitors enjoy it from the outside.

Bangalore Palace is the best-known palace in Bangalore, built for the Wadiyar kings in the 19th century and modelled on Windsor Castle. The Bangalore Palace location is off Palace Road, north of the city centre. Timings and ticket prices change by season, so we check them for your travel date and plan the day around them.

The ISKCON temple is on Hare Krishna Hill, Chord Road, Rajajinagar. Bangalore Palace is the closest main stop on this plan, so we pair them on the same morning.

Bannerghatta is the national park in Bangalore's south. Karnataka Tourism's Bannerghatta page lists it as open 9:30 AM to 5 PM with safaris from 10 AM to 4:30 PM: AC bus ₹500 for adults and ₹300 for children, non-AC bus ₹280 and ₹140, and a jeep package at ₹3,500. There is also a zoo and a butterfly park.

Best time to go

Bangalore is mild most of the year. October to February is the most comfortable; the Lalbagh flower shows in January and August bring big crowds and slow traffic around the garden.

Which is better on Day 3, Commercial Street or UB City?

Commercial Street shopping in Bangalore means clothes, shoes and bargains; UB City is a high-end mall with restaurants. Commercial Street Bangalore shops open later in the morning, so we go there after breakfast. Your driver may change the order on the day to beat traffic. You pick one so you are not too late home.

Can we add the summer palace?

Yes. Tipu Sultan's teakwood summer palace, which many visitors pair with Lalbagh, is close to the garden and fits on Day 1 if traffic allows.

What if Bannerghatta safari tickets are sold out?

Safari tickets are sold at the park and can run out on busy days. We aim to reach early; if they are gone, you can still see the zoo and butterfly park.

What are the payment and cancellation terms?

A 30% advance confirms your trip, and the balance date is in your written quote. Cancel 15 days or more before the trip and we refund the full advance. From 14 to 3 days before, we refund half the advance. Within 2 days of the trip, the advance is not refunded.
