Ooty honeymoon package 3 days: how the days run

  1. Day 1: Coimbatore to Ooty, Botanical Garden, Ooty Lake and a sunset viewpoint

    We pick you up in Coimbatore and climb the ghat road through Mettupalayam, about 100 km and around 2.5 to 3 hours. After check-in, walk the Government Botanical Garden, which the Nilgiris district lists at 55 acres, laid out in 1897, with a fern house and a fossilised tree trunk. Ooty Lake is a short drive away for a rowing boat. The driver ends the day at a viewpoint for sunset, chosen on the day by weather and crowds.

  2. Day 2: Rose Garden, Pine Forest and Pykara Lake

    Start at the Rose Garden on the slopes of Elk Hill, terraced over about 4 hectares with more than 3,000 rose varieties. Then the Pine Forest on the Pykara road, a quiet place for photos. Pykara Lake is about 21 km from Ooty on the Ooty to Mysore road and has boating. You are back at the hotel by evening.

  3. Day 3: Slow morning and return to Coimbatore

    No early start. Check out after breakfast, stop in town for tea or chocolates, and drive down to Coimbatore for your drop.

How far / how to reach

Ooty is about 90 km from Coimbatore by road, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours via Mettupalayam and the Coonoor ghat. We drive you both ways. If you land at Coimbatore airport or arrive by train, the driver meets you there.

Ooty places to visit for couples on this trip

The Ooty honeymoon places on this trip are chosen for a slow pace. The Rose Garden and the Pine Forest are the two best places for photos together, and Pykara Lake gives you a boat ride away from the town crowd. If you want other stops, such as a tea estate or a quieter lake, ask when you book and we will fit one in on Day 3.

Best time to visit Ooty for honeymoon

The Nilgiris district lists April, May and September as the best months for the Botanical Garden, and the garden's flower show runs in May. That makes May lively but busy. Couples who want quieter roads often pick September to early November or February and March. December and January nights are cold, so pack warm layers. Rain is heaviest in the monsoon months, so carry a light raincoat if you travel then.

Can we stay at a resort instead of a hotel?

The standard quote uses a 3-star or similar hotel. If you would rather stay at one of the Ooty resorts for couples, tell us your budget and we will check what we can book. The car, driver and sightseeing stay the same.

Will the hotel ask for ID at check-in?

Yes, hotels usually ask every guest for photo ID at check-in. Carry your Aadhaar or another photo ID.

Can we do this in 2 days?

For an Ooty honeymoon trip from Coimbatore, two days works, but the second day ends with a drive down. How do we pay, and what if we cancel?

A 30% advance confirms your trip, and the balance date is in your written quote. Cancel 15 days or more before the trip and we refund the full advance. From 14 to 3 days before, we refund half the advance. Within 2 days of the trip, the advance is not refunded.
