How much is Tempo Traveller rent in Coimbatore?

Tempo Traveller rent in Coimbatore starts at ₹3,000 per day for the 10, 12 and 14 seater and ₹3,500 per day for the 17 and 18 seater, always with our driver. The per km rate is ₹18 for the three smaller vans, ₹20 for the 17 seater and ₹22 for the 18 seater. Toll and parking are extra on every trip.

The 10, 12 and 14 seater cost the same, so most groups of 12 are better off in the 14 seater: two spare seats for bags or a late joiner. The 17 and 18 seater also share a day rate, but the 17 seater is ₹2 cheaper per km, which adds up on a long trip. A full 18 seater has the lowest day rate per person anywhere in our fleet.

Which Tempo Traveller size fits your group?

Count everyone travelling, children included, then pick the smallest van that seats the whole group with a seat or two to spare. That means the 10 seater for up to 10 people, the 12 or 14 seater for 11 to 14 people, the 17 seater for 15 to 17 people and the 18 seater for a group of 18.

Our Tempo Travellers come in 10, 12, 14, 17 and 18 seats. There is no 15 or 16 seater: a group of 15 or 16 takes the 17 seater at ₹3,500 a day and keeps the spare seat for bags. A group of 10 that wants something newer can book the 10 seater Force Urbania at ₹6,500 a day.

For 19 to 21 people we have a 21 seater coach van (non-AC, ₹4,500 a day), and our bus rental page lists the 24 seater and bigger buses.

Groups book these vans for two or three families travelling together, office outings, wedding guests moving between the hall and the hotel, school and college trips, and temple tours to Palani, Madurai or Guruvayur.

How is Tempo Traveller rent per km worked out?

The per km rate is what each kilometre of the trip costs: ₹18 in the 10, 12 and 14 seater, ₹20 in the 17 seater and ₹22 in the 18 seater. Multiply it by the full distance, out and back plus driving between sights, to get the kilometre part of your fare. Toll and parking go on top.

Worked example: Coimbatore to Ooty and back in a day

Ooty is about 85 km from Coimbatore, so the round trip is about 170 km. Add around 30 km of driving between sights in Ooty and the day comes to roughly 200 km.

That is the kilometre side of the fare only. The full quote also depends on how many days you keep the van, and toll and parking are extra. Your real distance changes with the pickup point and the stops you add, so send us the plan and we add up the kilometres and send one total before you confirm. A group of 15 or 16 asking for a per km rate should use the 17 seater figure, ₹20 per km.

What are the seats, AC and luggage space like?

All our Tempo Travellers have AC and a music system. The van is the Force Traveller from Force Motors, and its seat layout depends on the version: Force lists 12, 13 or 14 seats plus the driver on the 3350 mm wheelbase model and 12 or 17 plus the driver on the 3700 mm model, all high-back seats.

Force also sells recliner seats with armrests, which most people call pushback seats, and twin blower AC as optional extras. So two vans with the same seat count can feel different inside. If pushback seats matter to your group, ask us on WhatsApp about the seats in the van you are booking.

Luggage

The space for bags shrinks as the seats fill. A van with every seat taken leaves little room for big suitcases, which is the main reason we suggest the 14 seater for a group of 12 on a multi-day trip. Tell us how many large bags you are bringing when you book, and we will tell you which van carries them.

Can a Tempo Traveller go to Ooty, Kodaikanal, Munnar and Valparai?

Yes. Our drivers take Tempo Travellers up the ghat roads to Ooty and Kodaikanal and on Kerala tours to Munnar, and they know where a big van can park at each stop. Ooty is the shortest drive at about 85 km. Kodaikanal and Munnar are the longest, at around 155 to 160 km each way.

Those figures cover the road there and back only; sightseeing kilometres, toll and parking come on top.

Tips from our hill trips

• The Ooty road climbs through Mettupalayam and Coonoor. Our drivers take these vans up this road and know the bends.
• The Valparai road has 40 hairpin bends. If anyone in the group gets travel sick, seat them near the front and tell the driver, who will pull over where it is safe.
• Kodaikanal is reached through Palani, so a stop at the Palani temple fits easily on the way up or back.
• For Munnar, plan it as a 2 day trip or longer. At about 4.5 hours each way, a same-day return leaves very little time up there.

Tempo Traveller or Force Urbania: which should you book?

Book the Tempo Traveller when the price per seat matters most, and the Force Urbania when your group wants the newer, premium van. At 12 seats the gap is wide: ₹3,000 a day and ₹18 per km for the Tempo Traveller against ₹6,500 and ₹26 for the Urbania. At 14 seats it is ₹3,000 against ₹6,500 a day, both at ₹18 per km.

What is included in the rent and what costs extra?

Every Tempo Traveller rental includes the van, our driver, AC and a music system, plus pickup at the point you choose in Coimbatore, including the airport and the railway station. Toll charges and parking fees are extra. We rent Tempo Travellers only with our own driver, so there is no self-drive option.
